Derrick W. (Rick) Wheeler Jr. was born and raised in Jackson County in Pisgah, Alabama. His parents are Florene Wheeler and the late Derrick Wheeler of Pisgah. He lived in Pisgah until 1995 and has been a resident of Scottsboro since that time.

State Regulatory Board / Agency Information

Act 2006-586 was passed in the 2006 Regular Session of the Alabama Legislature and was signed into law on April 26, 2006. This Act directs all boards and agencies to notify the Department of Revenue in writing of their regulatory requirements. It also requires the Department to compose a list of all state boards and agencies that regulate licensing of businesses or occupations under their jurisdiction.

If your occupation/business is listed then you will need to send a copy of your state regulated license along with your 2008 City of Scottsboro business license application before your 2008 license will be renewed.

Municipal Business License Information

Act 2006-586 directs all state boards and agencies that regulate licensing of businesses or occupations under their jurisdiction to notify the Department of Revenue in writing of their regulatory requirements. It also requires the Department to compose a list of all such boards and agencies and to distribute the list to all municipal license officers.

Lists of regulatory boards and agencies have been prepared alphabetically by occupation/entity. Beginning with the 2008 license year, any business entity that is in an occupation shown on the list should present a permit or certificate from the regulatory board or agency prior to being issued a municipal business license.
