Yvonne Yockel began her career with the City of Scottsboro Parks and Recreation Department in 1989 working as the special programs director. She served in that capacity until 1997 at which time she was promoted to assistant director.

Adjacent to the lobby are meeting rooms that can be set up for banquets, seminars, or meetings. It can also be divided into sections to accommodate smaller groups. Next to the meeting room is a kitchen area equipped for groups who wish to cater their functions. Rates for one room are $20 per hour; two rooms $30 per hour; and three rooms for $40 per hour.
