Yvonne Yockel began her career with the City of Scottsboro Parks and Recreation Department in 1989 working as the special programs director. She served in that capacity until 1997 at which time she was promoted to assistant director.

The City of Scottsboro has one of the finest recreation facilities in the State of Alabama: The Scottsboro Recreation Complex known as the Rec*Com. It consists of two air conditioned gyms, an indoor walking track, an indoor pool with men and women's locker and shower facilities, meeting rooms for various meetings, banquets, or seminars, and two racquetball courts. Activities offered at the center are basketball, swim team, swim lessons, Kids Klub, gymnastics, cheerleading, clogging, line dancing, etc. Located across from the Rec*Com are three outdoor basketball courts, a fenced playground area that includes swings and a modular playground system, picnic tables, and a skate park.

Hours of operation are:
Monday -Thursday 5:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. (Pool 7:30a.m.)
Friday 5:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. (Pool 7:30a.m.)
Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Sunday 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Rates:

Admission:  $2 (Walk, Swim, Basketball)
3 and under are free.

Racquetball:  $5 per hour
Monthly Pass:  $20
Walleyball:  $15

Walk-Swim Pass:  $15 per month for Seniors
$20 per month for Adults
$50 per year

Coupon Books:  $20 for Seniors and Youth
$35 for Adults

Youth Sports League Fee:  $35 (Soccer, Basketball, 
Swim Team, Baseball/Softball)

*All annual memberships  include entire Rec*Com facility.

*Annual Membership:  $200

*Annual Couple Membership:  $250

Annual Family Membership:  $350 (includes two children)

*Senior Membership:  $100

*Senior Couple Membership:  $150

*Entire Rental Facility:  $400

Classes:

Gymnastics - will resume in the Fall

Weight Watchers - Tuesdays 5-7 pm and Wednesdays 9-11 am

Clogging - Thursdays 6-9 pm

Line Dancing - Mondays 6-8 pm

Yoga - Mondays and Wednesdays 8-9 am
