Fire Chief

Chief White began his employment with the City of Scottsboro more than 29 years ago. He joined the Fire Department just a few short years later. During his career with the department he served the community as a firefighter, driver/engineer, lieutenant and captain. His promotion to chief marked the retirement of the past chief, Melton Potter, who went on to become the city’s mayor. During his tenure with the department, Chief White worked many years under the direction of former Chief Lonnie Webb.

We are proud to report there were no fire related fatalities in 2008.

The total value of all property involved in residential, commercial, and vehicle fires in Scottsboro was $18,394,970.00.  The total estimated monetary loss to these properties was $1,237,420.00, resulting in a savings of $17,157,550.00 to the property owners affected.
