Thermon Bell was elected to Place #1 on the Scottsboro City Council on October 7, 2008. This was his first attempt to acquire public office in Scottsboro.

After high school, Mr. Bell joined the Alabama National Guard in January 1977 and served as a fulltime guardsman until he retired in June of 2004.

Mr. Bell is married to Sharon J. Bell. They have two children, born and raised in Scottsboro. He has coached recreation league basketball and T-ball with the Scottsboro Parks and Recreation department. He is an active member of his church.

Mr. Bell said his goal is to serve the people of Scottsboro as an honest, trustworthy and dedicated member of the City Council. He hopes to work with the mayor and council to accomplish many positive things for the City of Scottsboro in the next four years.
