Charles King is originally from the Shoals area of northwestern Alabama. He is a graduate of Muscle Shoals High school and attended Auburn University where he received a bachelors degree in civil engineering. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Alabama.

He worked for four years as the assistant engineer for Elmore County in Wetumpka.

Charles began working or the City of Scottsboro in April 2009. He and wife, Leah, are new to the area.
