Construction Update 9-2-2017Sod was put down on 3 fields.
Concrete placement for all the walkways was completed.
Installation of the siding and exterior trim on the concession building was completed. Metal roofing will be installed next week.
Wiring and plumbing on the interior of the concession building continued.
Irrigation and fencing work continued.
Construction Update 8-26-2017A continuation of last week, the following items progressed during the week.
1.) Irrigation work.
2.) Fence installation.
3.) Construction of the 2nd story of the concession building siding and roofing.
4.) Forming for concrete walkways.
Work began on installation of wiring and conduit for the 2nd story of the concession building.
Placing sod on the two large fields was rescheduled from last week to this coming week.
Construction Update 8-19-2017Installation of the irrigation system for fields 3 and 4 (the largest fields) was completed.
Fine grading and cleanup on fields 3 and 4 was completed in anticipation of placing sod on these fields next week.
Work began on wire pulling for the electrical circuits.
Work continued on the following items.
1.) Fence installation.
2.) Construction of the 2nd story of the concession building.
3.) Forming for concrete walkways.
Construction Update 8-12-2017Rainfall and wet conditions significantly impacted progress this week.
Installation of the irrigation system continued.
Fence installation continued.
Framing for the concession building 2nd story continued.
Construction Update 8-5-2017All the following activities continued this week:
Concrete placement for the walkways between the fields
Installation of the irrigation system
SEPB work on installation of lighting cabinets

Construction Update 7-29-2017Dirtwork on all the fields is complete.
Laser grading of the infield areas was completed.
Concrete was placed for the section of walkway leading from the concession building going NW between fields 2 and 3.
Formwork was installed for the section of walkway from the concession building going SE toward the main entrance.
Installation of the irrigation system began.
Work continued on the 2nd floor of the concession building.
Fence installation is continuing.
SEPB completed pulling all cables between the transformer and all the lights.
Construction Update 7-22-2017Work continued with dirtwork on all fields. Dirtwork is complete on the two of the outfields. Final laser leveling of the infield for field #3 is underway. Installation of the infield mix is nearing completion.
Grading and formwork for the first section of walkways between fields was completed. Concrete will begin next week.
Work was completed on pressure testing of the water lines.
Fence installation continued with backstop framing, outfield posts and fence fabric.
SEPB is pulling cables for all the lighting.
Construction Update 7-15-2017With dryer conditions, work resumed on the dirtwork on all the fields. Dirtwork is nearing completion on the fields and installation of the special infield mix is underway.
Concrete was placed for the dugout floors.
Concrete was placed for the small relocated portion of the drainage swale behind field #3.
Work continued on testing and cleaning the water lines.
SEPB continued work on installation of lights and started pulling wiring.
Construction Update 7-8-2017With rain and/or wet conditions throughout the week, in addition to July 4 holiday, work was very limited.
All masonry block work on the concession building (and the project) was completed. This includes installation of the block fill insulation.
Work began on testing and cleaning of the installed water line.
Construction Update 7-1-2017Blockwork for the first floor of the concession building is nearly complete.
Fence post installation for field #3 is complete. (All tall backstop posts were previously installed for all fields).
Dirt fill continued on the fields, but was hampered by rani/wet conditions.
SEPB continued installation of field lighting equipment.
WSG Board installed the gas line into the site.
Installation of the underground utilities to the future pavilion area on the NW walkway was completed.
Construction Update 6-23-2017Installation began on the fence for field 3.
Work continued on the blockwork for the concession building, along with installation of embedded conduit.
Dirt fill continued on fields 1, 2 and 4.
Gravel backfill was placed against the back of the block retaining wall.
Rain hampered construction with both Thursday and Friday lost to rain.
Construction Update 6-17-2017Work continued on the block work for the concession building; block work is about 70% complete.
Parallel with the block work, installation of electrical and plumbing features in the concession building walls continued.
Installation of the underground waterlines (except irrigation) is complete.
Installation of the concession building roof drain piping is underway.
Work continued for 3 days on the dirtwork for the fields. Rain and wet conditions prevented 2 days work. Dirtwork for the fields is about 40% complete.
Construction Update 6-10-2017Work began this week on the blockwork for the concession building. Internal electrical and plumbing conduits and piping are being installed with the blockwork.
Installation of the sewer pump station basin was completed as well as the sewer line from the concession building to the pump basin.
WSG Board will connect the piping on the pump discharge side into their system, work progressed on the underground water line.
Unfavorable conditions from the prior weekend rain prevented any dirtwork on the fields.
Construction Update 6-3-2017The block contractor worked Saturday to complete all four fields retaining walls and dugouts blockwork and wall caps.
He will start next week on the concession building.
The plumbing subcontractor started installation of the underground water lines and sewer pipe.
Also, the frames for the wall mounted toilets and sinks were installed at the concession building. The door frames were erected at the concession building, getting ready for blockwork.
Construction Update 5-27-2017Concrete was placed for the concession building slab.
The masonry walls (excluding the cap) were completed for field #1 retaining wall and dugout.
The masonry cap was partially complete for field #2. Overall, masonry work for the retaining walls and dugouts is about 70% complete Rain and damp conditions prevented any dirtwork fill on the fields.
Construction Update 5-20-2017With good weather again during the week, Tolar Construction and his subcontractors made very good progress.
Work accomplished included: The cap block was installed on the retaining wall on field #3; this completes all block work on this field.
The masonry wall on field #2 was completed, the concession building had all underground plumbing and electrical installed.
The concession building block forms, rock fill, vapor barrier and mesh reinforcement were completed.
Concrete for the slab is planned for early week of 5/22 Installation of underground electrical conduit from the concession building to required locations is essentially complete.
Grading and dirtwork on all fields is actively underway. Field #3 is approximately 70% complete.
SEPB continued installation of the lighting fixtures on the field poles. This work is about 90% complete WSG Board installed the new main water pipe from their valve box to the entrance to the complex; the contractor will tie on at this location.
Construction Update 5-13-2017With good weather, Tolar Construction and his subcontractors made very good progress during the week.
Work accomplished included: Concrete was placed for the remaining 3 retaining wall and dugout footings.
Concrete was placed for the concession building footings.
Installation of all fence backstop tall poles was completed for all fields.
Block masonry work for field #3 retaining wall and dugout was completed.
Block masonry work for field #2 retaining wall and dugout was started on field #3, all topsoil was removed and placement of the infield and outfield subgrade fill dirt was started.
Construction Update 5-6-2017Rain and muddy ground limited work this week.
Concrete was placed of the retaining wall and dugout footings on field #2. The footings were dug for the concession building.
Construction Update 4-29-2017Very good week with good weather after drying out after Monday. Contractor also worked on Saturday to get ahead of the forecast rain on Sunday.
Tolar Construction main sequencing of the work is: concrete foundation work for fields 2 and 3 (on the west side), then the concession building and then fields 1 and 4.
Block work will follow the foundations. Fields 2 and 3 grading and irrigation will follow the block work.
Installation of the tall backstop posts (that are embedded in the block retaining wall) was completed for fields #2 and 3.
Concrete was placed for the block wall footings and dugout on field 3. Footings were dug for block wall footings and dugout for field #2.
SEPB continued with installation of light fixtures.
Construction Update 4-16-2017With the dry weather all week, the contractor completed the dirt fill under the concession building, which is now about 4’ above the existing ground. Also completed was the dirt fill for the 4 walkway ramps leading to the raised concession building area.

Construction Update 4-7-2017During the first week of April the installation of the drainage piping was completed. Rain and wet conditions prevented any other earthwork.
Construction Update 3-31-2017With the rainfall last weekend and during the week, no backfill operations were possible. The contractor started installation of the underground drainage system and is approximately 60% complete.
Construction Update 3-24-2017For the week ending March 24, 2017, backfill rock under the concession building was completed to just above the existing grade; approximately four more feet of earth fill will be placed under the building to reach final grade.
Construction Update 3-16-2017Work began today on 3/16/2017, the excavation of the concession building area by CTS Excavations, a Scottsboro subcontractor to the Scottsboro general contractor, Tolar Construction.
Installation of the light pole fixtures began last week by the Scottsboro Electric Power Board (SEPB).
Work on the complex is expected to be completed late this year.
